Currituck sound is an estuary in North Carolina that is protected by the barrier islands of the Outer Banks. It is about 30 miles from north to south and averages 3-8 miles wide
History
Before the outer banks was full of tourist and vacationists, it was well known for its great fishing and waterfowl. One of the largest hunting and fishing clubs is the Wale bone club. It is still up and running today.
