A Message from the Principal

Esteemed families,

This month, we've had a wealth of experiences as a school community. We enjoyed writing celebrations, our first annual pumpkin patch and had our character parade! We also had three family workshops including our People's Circle. Thank you for joining us through this educational journey. Our students look forward to these shared experiences. Your support is essential for our student's success.

Please join us on November 15th during parent engagement, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm for an engaging family event where we will be distributing sight words and fluency cards for students to practice at home basic number facts and build a strong foundation to become fluent readers. Join us for some math games and fun activities.

We are committed to cultivating a positive learning environment for our students to thrive, feel successful while enjoying learning.

Empowering our students of Today for the possibilities of Tomorrow!

Stay safe, see you soon!

Did you know?

Did you know that 7 plus absences places your child on the severely chronically absent list?

Did you know that 4 absences place your child on the chronically absent list?

Did you know that 2-3 absences place your child on the at-risk list?

This is how you can get off.... by coming every day. It's still early in the year.

Please let us know how we can support you and your child/children.

Our 1st Pumpkin Patch

Replications were able to get 650 pumpkins. This was an amazing experience for the students at PS 85. Every student was able to pick their own pumpkin to take home.

iReady SHOUT OUT!!!

Huge shout out to the students who are taking part in the iready challenge. Several students are giving up their recess to participate in the challenge.
