Late Start Details
Hi, Folks. We are going to proceed with a 2 hour late start tomorrow morning (Wed, Feb. 13th). This means that there will be NO morning Extended Care and that school will begin at 10 am. On late start days, breakfast is not served and drop off begins at 9:45 am. Everyone has a different road situation and we understand that. If you need to be later than 10 am or cannot make it to school, we support your decision because we want you to be safe. The parking lot and the roads around the school are not ideal. Main roads are pretty good, but our parking lot is very thick with slush and snow still. Additionally, the roads have a lot of standing water. Also, please try to avoid the hill if it is icy overnight. Someone slid down it last night and took out the Stop Sign.
We will do drop off for ALL students (PK3 - 8th grade) in the back of the building since the front takes so long to clear the snow. Please be careful and be patient. Pre-K students will do drop off in the first lane, closest to the building. All others do drop off in lane 2 (since they do not have to scan in). Also, kids are welcome (and encouraged) to wear snow boots to school! Let’s hope that this continues as rain and not more snow in the coming days! I am including up-to-the-minute photos of the lot and area surrounding the school so that you are aware of how things look at this point in the day and can make the best decision for your circumstances. I am just hoping to get the Jetta out of my driveway. They plowed my street...and dumped it all in front of my house! I appreciate their efforts...
