4-H Green Superheroes of Science: Virtual Cloverbud learning
Register by March 7 to join 4-H teen superheroes in an interactive live virtual gathering where you will show and tell what you explored, tested and discovered during your experiment. Online sessions are for grades K-3 and will take place on Tuesdays, April 9, 16, 23 and 30, from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Note: Our April 30 session will be longer and run from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. There is a $20 fee to cover the cost of the supply kit that will be mailed before each session. Cloverbud Project Day - March 9th
All Kindergartners-2nd graders are invited to participate in 4-H Cloverbud Project Days! Each session will highlight a different 4-H project area and give youth the opportunity to explore and complete a hands-on project, make new friends, and learn new skills.
Join us on Saturday March 9th to learn about birds in your backyard! The session runs from 10:00-11:30 am and there is no cost to attend. Join us at the Carlton County Extension office.

Attend Minnesota 4-H deep dive disability planning roundtable March 21
Minnesota 4-H is committed to creating inclusive learning environments for all youth. 4-H volunteers and club/group leaders are invited to attend our final deep dive volunteer webinar on Thursday, March 21 at 6:30 p.m. Come share your plans, get ideas from others, explore additional resources, and ask questions as part of our disability planning roundtable for volunteers. 4-H project development committee (PDC) animal science update webinar
As we head into spring and summer, it's time to start thinking about preparing for summer projects and programming. The state animal science team will host a webinar for local livestock PDC volunteers and interested staff on Thursday, April 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. During the webinar, we’ll highlight system-wide policies and processes to strengthen the animal science program, discuss updates connected with livestock species, and offer educational resources. Can you grow a monster melon?
Are you ready to embark on an adventure that will transform your backyard into a vibrant oasis of beauty and wonder? Look no further than the Grow a Monster Melon Challenge! While growing watermelons and melons is already a delightful pursuit, cultivating giant melons takes the experience to an entirely new level of excitement and amazement. Registration opens March 1, but space is limited so be sure to sign up no later than March 20 to participate. Learn more and register.
Minnesota 4-H Scholarships
Extension Development and Minnesota 4-H offer several scholarships for 4-H youth who are pursuing post-secondary studies at accredited colleges and universities. Please encourage eligible 4-H youth to visit the Extension 4-H scholarship website for detailed information on the applications, letters of recommendation needed, and amounts awarded.
Please note that applications are available and accepted online only. The online application form does not auto-save. We suggest applicants prepare their responses in another document and copy/paste into the scholarship form when they have enough time to complete the process. Scholarship applications are no longer accepted via email or mail.
Application deadline: April 1.

We're hiring 4-H Youth Development summer interns!
Do you know a college student looking for work experience in the youth development field? We have 4-H summer intern positions available throughout the state of Minnesota for summer, 2024. These positions are designed to provide meaningful professional youth development work experience for the student intern working alongside an Extension educator. Positions will begin in mid-May to early June and range from 8-13 weeks. Learn more and apply.
