Bourchier Mail
School Newsletter - 19th Edition 2nd December 2021

from the principal
Dear Families
It is a busy time here at school.
Our children are enjoying excursions and incursions at the moment. Bowling, Kids Town, Mount Major and go jump have occurred and pool visits, the cinema and Mansfield zoo are to come. What lucky kids!!!
Last week our junior school took part in an amazing music making session with Jon Madden. The instruments were funky and our children certainly enjoyed this experience.
Junior school also took part in a late night at school. It replaced their sleepover which could not go ahead due to COVID. They had a fun night and retired home quite tired.
Our Year Six will enjoy a sleep out tonight at school in tents on our oval. There is much entertainment planned. We hope they also have a fun night and we also hope that they retire to their tents nice and early!
Year Five entrepreneurs were in action last week. The Kidpreneur program required our children to create their own business and sell their products in an effort to make a profit. They were all incredibly successful together raising well over $1000. Thanks to our entire school community for supporting these entrepreneurs.
We have a book amnesty at the moment. Please search cupboards, under beds, on shelves and all nooks and crannies around your house in search of lost take home stories, read aloud picture story books and Library books. No questions asked …. we just want them back to help build up our depleting supplies. Please send them back to school with your child ASAP.
Staff have been busy creating new classes for 2022. Next Tuesday December 7 is orientation day. Children will spend some time in their 2022 class with their 2022 teacher. This is a time to be introduced to each other and begin some relationship building. We also anticipate that this will help everyone climatise to their new learning environment a little before 2022 arrives.
Summer is finally here along with warm weather and our hot sun. Please ensure your child has a hat to wear during recess and lunch breaks in our playground.
We are doing well at the moment in regards to COVID. We have all classes at school!!! This term has been challenging with several positive cases reported. We will continue to be vigilant and thanks for helping. Unfortunately we cannot have families back on site yet. We appreciate you dropping off and picking up from outside our gates. If you do have cause to come to the office you will need to check in using the Qr code and display you vaccination status.
Kind regards
Denise Howley
Junior Activity night
The Year Ones had so much fun on Thursday at school for their activities night. This involved jumping castles, rock painting, jumping sack, egg and spoon races! The students also showed off their talent in a talent show.

We cannot refund via QKR, so students will be receiving the CASH REFUND which will be sent home with them on Monday, 6th December 2021.
