On the Trail - Mustang Families
Nov. 1 - 6
#OneTrail
We are almost halfway in term 2!
Our staff and students do an amazing job and we are so proud to work with you all in partnership with our families. We are tightening up on tardies and working on all of the items we said in the last newsletter.
That said, we have found that many families are struggling to read the vital information in our emails. We value communication and know that you being in the loop is very important to our partnership.
As a crazy busy mom, I must confess, I, too, struggle checking my own daughter's attendance daily, her behavior and grades. Once a week I get an email (set up in settings of parentvue) of her grades. This is how I have done it with all 3 of my girls. I (right or wrong) assumed the teachers or school would call me if there was something amiss. My emails are off the hook so I don't check every synergy email either. I know how bad that sounds!!!! But, I got lucky! That has worked out for me, maybe because my girls knew I know people haha!
I know you all are busy too and share my difficulty checking emails, attendance and grades.
But we need your help to find a balance so we for sure can reach you.
My message to teachers is to attempt to make phone calls home often. And, we are continuing to try to find the best ways to communicate with you all.
Teachers are working so hard and doing their best too. They are swamped preparing the best lessons guided by student outcomes to address learning recovery from distance learning and also have students up to speed with the new curriculum. That takes a lot of their prep time so they can't always call and resort to talkingpoints text or emails to be sure you are in the know.
So, while I am asking the staff to make the personal phone calls, please remember to do your best to check the emails and communications and keep your contact information current. With progress reports coming and our continued attempts to reach out some messages will come through emails for efficiency-sake. Together we can make this partnership and communication even stronger.
We ask that you find a moment to check your email - at least look at who sent it and/or the subject line so you know if there is an important detail that may otherwise be missed. While I admit this is even hard for me to do at times, I know just how important this communication is and will be calendaring time for myself to do it as well.
Reach out to admin if you need support. We want to support you and all of our Mustangs to the best of our ability.
Have a great week!
Go Mustangs!

Important Items for Mustang Success
Conflict Mediation - refer someone else or self refer
Struggling students? Reporting incidents or concerns
- refer students in "drama" or in "need" to conflict mediation
- seek help by connecting with counselors or admin as needed
Students can self refer to conflict mediation as well. See the form above for referrals.
Remind students of our Anonymous Incident Reporting system on our website. It allows for anonymous reporting of bullying, self harm, violence, harassment and more. If the person allows us, we can also communicate two way to get additional details while they still remain anonymous if they choose.

Shout Outs
Thank you and congratulations TJ Ewing, Rick Arcuri and David Coronado for seeing our Mustang Football team through their 100th win in school history! You have been an integral part of this amazing program here at the Trail for every one of those wins and you make a difference! Thank you for all you do!
Great job Sara Townsend and your amazing production crew and talented students. So exciting to see plays coming back at MT! We know it is a lot of work and hours to put this together and jump through the pandemic hoops but it is a joy to see it coming to life.
If you see something, say something
There have been small groups of students doing damage not only to our campus but to businesses as well. In addition, a few have unfortunately been misrepresenting while interacting with adults in the community, too. Then, we add the damage and problems associated with the Tik Tok challenges and the poor behaviors on InstaGram to the problem. This is not how any of us want our school represented and it paints such a bad picture when this is such a great place to be.
Yet, we know there are so many more students, several thousands at MT, who are doing the right thing and representing MTHS in an awesome light! We are so proud of you and thank you for having Integrity, Respect and Confidence building up the Community!
So to help us continue this, please remember to tell an adult if you see something so that we can help everyone on our campus and off campus as well. And, keep doing what is right Mustangs and treat others how you would expect to be treated. You Matter and All of our Mustangs and Community Matter. Let's show the world how great it is to be a Mustang!
WELLNESS and Self-Care and Support
We want everyone to be well so here are some reminders of resources available in the picture below. We also have our own Employee Assistance Program: 1 (800) 646-9923.

COVID
Daily to protocols:
- Wear Masks indoors - mandatory regardless of vaccination status
- Hand wash and sanitize often - entrance/exit of rooms
- Have up to date daily seating charts/group charts, and accurate attendance records - this matters so much
- Do not come to school if you have symptoms - staff contact admin and students/families contact the school for admin to then follow protocols directed by nurses in contact with the county and health authorities
- Recommended wear masks in large groups outdoors - our lunch and passing periods for example
- Help remind students of the protocols as you pass by and in your classrooms/offices, etc.
