Project Beautify LVHS
LVHS is looking to warm up our hallways, doorways and windows around campus this year! Since parents are often asking how they can help, we wanted to share our amazon wish list of vinyl quotes and a few decorations for around the school. If you are interested, check out our wish list at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/bpXDV3o
Thank you!
PSAT Testing Next Week.
Sophomores and Juniors will be participating in the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 10th and our Freshmen will test on Tuesday, October 9th. Please make sure any scheduled appointments will not conflict with this important opportunity. An early bedtime the night before and a good breakfast the morning of testing are strongly recommended.
We want to send out a huge thank you to our awesome Lago Vista ISD Education Foundation for their generous donation of funds for these tests.
Monday, October 8 is a student holiday. Tuesday, October 9 will be a "B Day." Enjoy this extra time at home with your favorite viking!

Pep Rallies and Spirit Days for the Football Season:

G/T Fall Referrals for Students in Grades 1-12 extended to October 15th
Parents of students in grades 1-12 who consent to having their child screened for the
Lago Vista ISD Gifted & Talented Education Program should complete a referral form and return it the student's school by October 15.
Note: Parent consent is obtained each spring for all kindergarten students, so referrals for G/T screening are not accepted for students in kindergarten.
To access the referral form, please visit the Lago Vista ISD Gifted & Talented website at http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/curr.ins_GT.
Attendance Matters.
Our schoolwide attendance goal for this year is 97%. Our state funding is based on the percentage of students at school at 10:15 am every day. Higher attendance rate = more money for resources for your student.
For students who exceed our 96% goal, we are planning some more exciting rewards this year, such as a movie in the PAC, Kona Ice, and exam exemptions!
For students who miss school, here is some very important attendance information:
3 or more unexcused absences in a 4 week period - warning letter sent home and phone call from the principal.
10 or more unexcused absences in a 6 month period - truancy charges are filed. Parent, student and school administrator will be summoned to appear in truancy court.
Our campus goal is to reach 97% attendance each day.
Thanks for your support!
