Important Transportation Information & Updates
Driving On Campus - Safety Reminders
That being said, there are a few important reminders to ensure that our campus is safe during these peak traffic times:
- Please observe the posted speed limit on Angeline School Way. Drivers were noted to be speeding when exiting the campus on both days. We have requested support from law enforcement to ensure that drivers adhere to the speed limits.
- We will begin allowing students to exit vehicles prior to 7:40, where they can wait on the benches in front of the school under the supervision of our school resource officer and available staff.
- At 7:40, students will be allowed inside the campus, where they may wait in the atrium, second floor collaboration area, or Media Center. Please remind your students that they must stay in those areas. Students wandering in other areas of the campus will be subject to consequences.
- At dismissal, students will not be permitted to walk off campus to meet vehicles parked along Angeline School Way or Ridge Rd. There are three approved ways for students to leave the campus at dismissal: By bus, via the car line, or in the care of a parent or guardian who parks and walks up to retrieve them.
5 Things Your Teen Needs You to Know
My teen was anxiously awaiting a text from her friend about their plans for the evening. They had agreed to meet at 6 p.m. but hadn’t landed on a restaurant. It was almost time for her to leave, and her friend wasn’t responding to her texts. “Just call her,” I said matter-of-factly. “No way, Dad! That would be weird.” It turns out teens just don’t call each other anymore. Who knew? To be honest, there are a lot of things that are true for teens today that don’t make sense to us. Some of them are more interesting than important. However, what your teens need you to know is that some of these differences are a really big deal. In fact, understanding them is critical to understanding our teens. Here are 5 things your teen needs you to know.
Huddle up with your kids and ask, “What do you wish I knew about being a teen?”
