Stars of the Week!

We will have a new star of the week next week.

Students will be selected in each class on Friday of each week. A letter, poster, and special Star of the Week treats will be sent home on Friday to be worked on over the weekend. Every student will have the opportunity to be Star of the Week in their classroom at some point in the year. We look forward to learning more about all of our 2nd Grade Stars!

Animal Research Project

It is finally here! Animal Project time! We can hear the cheering begin!

This week, we started our Animal Research. During Writer's Workshop time, we will be researching our animals and then write a research paper about our animal. The research/writing part will be done here at school. The animal model will need to be done at home!

Monday, the information about your child's animal model project (in detail) went home in your child's Daily binder explaining when it is due, and what we expect from it. Please read it carefully and let us know if you have any questions!

Also, we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE your child to bring in EXTRA research from home! We would LOVE for them to bring in any info that they find at home, via Internet, or the Frisco Public Library to school to use in their research. The more information they can get their hands on, the better their paper will be! We will be using books and the Internet at school as well to research our animals.

We cannot wait to see all the final products on April 22nd !
