Coming Up
The Digital Learning Anchor School Showcase is being held on Wednesday, April 19th. It will be at Kellam High School from 5:30 - 7:00. This is a great opportunity to see how the anchor schools have been using digital tools with their students and hear from teachers and students about how their learning and teaching has been transformed! You will come away with some great ideas!
Morning Meeting
Need a new idea? Try the 5 Clue Challenge! Students watch a video in which they are given 5 clues. You can pause the video after each clue and allow the students to research or make guesses. This video gives clues, including a visual clue, about the Parthenon! There are mystery places, mystery animals, and mystery people. If your students love it, they can create their own and submit it to possibly be included on the website! Or what if they just created them on topics in your curriculum for their classmates to figure out? Fun!!
Interested in choice boards for your students?
Gone Google Story Builder allows students to develop writing skills by typing a conversation between characters. The end result is an animated video that looks like the creation of a google doc! The students don't need an account, but they have to be sure to copy the link when they are finished with their video. Check out a few of the examples by clicking on the squares at the bottom. The students can get really creative! Directions and instructional ideas from The Techie Teacher can be found here.
**NOTE: students creating a story together will all have to work on the same laptop.**
Have a question? Looking for resources? Want to see what other schools are doing? Join the new Google+ community called VBSchools Teach Together! This community was created to foster communication and collaboration between teachers in the division, K-12. Let me know if you need help signing up.
