Campus Connections
April 29th, 2018
Message from Jeff and Yolanda
LWTC staff members did a fantastic job of selling their programs. The sessions were interactive and informative for students (and the adult tour guides). They provided students with components related to salary, career details, classroom set-up, etc. Please see the photo gallery below to see for yourself. Several staff members commented that this was the best tour provided to the LWTHS 10th graders because of the top notch interactive sessions that the students and teachers put on. Thank you for all of your planning and preparation to make this a valuable experience for your prospective students.
We will make sure to highlight the other programs next week in the photo gallery!

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. With 5.4 million cases in more than 3.3 million people diagnosed annually, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. Fortunately, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable forms of cancer and highly treatable when detected early.
Prevention Guidelines: (referenced by Skin Cancer Foundation, 2018)
· Seek the shade, especially between 10 AM and 4 PM.
· Do not burn.
· Avoid tanning and UV tanning beds.
· Cover up with clothing, including a broad-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses.
· Use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher every day. For extended outdoor activity, use a water-resistant, broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
· Apply 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of sunscreen to your entire body 30 minutes before going outside. Reapply every two hours or immediately after swimming or excessive sweating.
· Examine your skin head-to-toe every month.
· See your physician every year for a professional skin exam.
