Trailblazer
Family Newsletter- Aug 30th
I just want to say thank you for all of the support you have shown not only your student(s) but also the staff so far this school year. It takes teamwork from home and school to help make a positive school experience.
As a parent, I know that there are so many things to remember when our children are concerned. If you have questions about something that happens at school or is being asked of your children at school don't hesitate to contact us. I personally have a fourth grader and a sixth grader. There are many times that something they are telling me at home just doesn't add up in my head. Calling or emailing the school can fill in the blanks of what our children don't mention (or remember). We encourage calls and emails.
On another note, I know the mosquitos are bad right now. We have had some parents ask if they can put bug spray on their Trailblazer before school. Yes, you can do that. There are also lotions that repel mosquitos that can be applied before coming to school for the day.
I hope you all have a wonderful week and a relaxing weekend!

Morning Car Rider Line
1. Make sure that your Trailblazer is ready to get out of the vehicle when you pull up. This will help the line to keep moving.
2. Please stay in your vehicle. If you need to help your Trailblazer out of the car, please park and walk them over.
If you have any question please let us know.
Parent Teacher Conferences
More information will be coming home soon (next week) about signing up for a time.
Conferences will be in person with a virtual option if that is better for your family.
We will be asking that only two individuals come per conference time slot. We are also asking that kids don't attend conference night.
South Side Apperal
Orders need to be placed by the 10th of September. Printed shirts will then take about 14 days to be delivered. Embroidered shirts will take roughly four weeks.
BrightBytes
We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics company, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.
We are reaching out to ask you to take part in our school questionnaire. Your participation is essential to help us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in our students’ lives, and will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy. The questionnaire will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
The last day to complete this questionnaire is September 12, 2021. Please respond using the link below:
Thank you for taking part in this important initiative!
Fundraiser:
Why do we have a fundraiser?
The fundraiser is a way for us to earn money for our school. These funds are all put back into the students at South Side.
The fundraiser ends September 9th. All money and orders need to be turned in on that day. Remember that your family and friends can order on-line if you share your online link with them! Please let us know if you have any questions.

Expectations:
Working together to teach expectations can be helpful for students. If you use the words respectful, responsible, and safe students will learn skills at school and home. Below is a chart that shows how we teach students to follow expectations at school, and ways you can reinforce this at home.
