What do kids do when I am working with a small group?
Don't just assign a worksheet, come to this PD session to learn various activities that will allow children the opportunity to learn digitally. You can set up a mini-flipped classroom. You can assign collaborative projects. You can have time with a small group knowing that the other children are actively engaged in appropriate activities that will challenge all learners. Differentiated Instruction, Prescriptive programs, Personalized Learning....just to name a few activities that will help you move from a 3 to a 5 on an evaluation!
Use Devices
Using time in rotations for researching or publishing research is a time for children to show what they know while exploring technology. Use technology to teach writing. Use technology for morning work. Use technology to enhance the good things going on in your classroom. Technology is a tool. You will always be the teacher!
Prescriptive Programs
Using classroom computers or devices can enhance learning by using prescriptive programs like Moby Max or iReady. These are researched based programs guaranteed to fill in the gaps of your students.
BYOD
A station using a child's own device (let's face it, they have them anyway, so why not use them to your advantage?) Let students work a problem, then scan a QR code to see if they got the correct answer. Self checking at top speed!
