Afterschool Dismissal

School is dismissed at 3:00 pm. Students load buses and/or exit the building by 3:15 pm. If after care is needed, please access the Action 300 program. If students are attending a club or athletic activity, students are supervised and they are welcome to remain at Lane.

If your son/daughter is not in a planned activity or meeting with a staff member, they will be asked to leave the building. We do not have supervision for students after 3:15 pm. Therefore, plan according for pick up of your son/daughter.

Thank you for your understanding.

Lost and Found

Are you missing a jacket, hat, gloves, etc? Please, have your son/daughter check the lost and found. It is located outside of the cafeteria. In the near future, we will have the items on a table for students to claim,

Principal Message

Dear Lane Families,

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving break. Hopefully you had time to connect with family and friends.

The Wisconsin DPI recently released the 2017-2018 School report cards. We are once again pleased with our results and all the hard work of our staff and students. The report card does not reflect many of the great things our community does everyday, but is one indicator of the effectiveness of our educational programming. Administration and staff will use the information provided to continue improving the experience for all our students.

As the winter season approaches with colder weather, please send your children to school with appropriate clothing. Students will be expected to go outside for recess as long as the National Weather Service indicates it is safe to be exposed to acceptable wind speeds and temperature.

Global - Future Cities

6th grade Global has been given the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Future Cities Competition. We will be working on this during class time in both Balanced Literacy and Science.

There are multiple components to this competition. Students will create a virtual city in SimCity, write a City Essay, create a City Model and City Presentation, as well as create a Project Plan to do throughout.

We will be doing an in-house competition in January. The two teams that win the in-house competition will move on to regionals. Regionals competition will be on Saturday, January 26th, 2019. Students will need transportation to the competition. If students win at regionals, they will have the opportunity to compete at nationals in D.C.

For the City Model, students should be collecting items from home, such as plastic containers, boxes, etc. that they think that they can use in their city.
