Here are the dates and times for 6-12th grade prize retrieval for the remainder of the year:
February 19th from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Lotus
March 26th from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Lotus
April 30th from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Lotus
May 21st from 3 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Lotus
ACCESS Testing Is Almost Completed for Secondary Students
Thank you to all our parent who helped get your student to testing. Great Job to all our students for coming and doing your best. There are just a few students who need make up testing. You will receive information from Ms. Chol.
Lotus School for Excellence’s Parent University program provides training, information, and resources to parents and caregivers that will aid parents in their essential responsibility for influencing children's lives. By partnering with internal LSE departments, academic institutions, community organizations and other agencies to equip families with additional skills, knowledge, and resources, Parent University will support and empower parents to become leaders and advocates for their child's learning.
Classes offered through Parent University provide resources and training in areas such as safety, life skills, academic development and financial literacy, and will provide families with tools that they can use to encourage their children to become successful while fostering school and community improvement.
Parent University is designed to:
· Increase parental involvement and participation at Lotus,
· Empower parents to become effective advocates for their children,
· Strengthen home-school-community partnerships,
· Allow parents an opportunity to network with professionals and other parents,
· Help parents develop the skills needed to implement positive parenting practices, and
· Equip parents with the knowledge and awareness of resources available to them.
PARENT UNIVERSITY LAUNCHES ON FEBRUARY 4th and 8th, 2021 with our 1st webinar:
“SOS - Signs of Suicide” - facilitated by Hope Walgamuth (LSE Elementary School Counselor) and Kristina Cohen (LSE Secondary School Counselor)

FEBRUARY CONTEST: All students that complete their Friday assignments for every Friday in February will receive a Prize.

Season B has officially started as Cheer,Wrestling, and Basketball opened up their season this week:
The wrestling team is doing work everyday to improve their skills. Coach Kois is still looking for more students to join the program. If you know of any kids that are interested in joining the wrestling team please have them contact Coach Kois at Rkois@lotusschool.org.
The cheer team is working hard to bring spirit to the Lotus Community. coaches Bauer and Hall are doing a great job and are still looking for more students to join. If your student is interested in joining the Cheer team please contact Coach Bauer at Rbauer@lotusschool.org.
Boys Basketball is off to a great start led by 2nd year coach Sami Jabai. They opened up the season with a 49-43 win vs D.A.T. on Monday. They are back in action Friday 1/29/21 vs Ellicott HS 7:30pm. If your student is interested in joining the Boys Basketball team please contact Coach Jabai at Sjabai@lotusschool.org.
Girls Basketball coached by Coach Jackson and Ms. McClelland had two impressive wins this week and look to add to their win total on Friday vs Ellicott HS 6:00pm start time. If your student is interested in joining the Girls Basketball team please contact Coach Mac at Kmcclelland@lotusschool.org.
You can watch all the home games live on the Lotus School for Excellence Facebook page! Unfortunately due to COVID 19 precautions, we will not have spectators at any of our events. Tell a friend and help support your METEORS!!
Sports Are Back!
IT'S NOT TO LATE TO JOIN!
Season B officially started on Jan. 18th! The sports included in season B are high school boys and girls cheer, wrestling, and basketball. We are operating under strict guidelines and rules from the CDPHE, CHSAA, and APS to ensure we are protecting our athletes and coaches from COVID 19 as best as possible.
If your high school student is interested in joining season B please email the appropriate coach or the Athletic Director. We are happy to answer any questions you may have! Your student's safety is our FIRST PRIORITY!

Miss Kristina is available to meet/check-in with students who need a safe place to talk, who are experiencing big feelings/emotions, or students who feel like they need more support! LOTUS School for Excellence
Lotus first opened its doors in August 2006 with a total of 147 students in grades 6 and 7. Each year after that, its enrollment increased gradually to finally reach over 900 students, with grades spanning from Kindergarten to 12th. In such a diverse and disadvantaged community, for over a decade, Lotus has managed to instill interest in students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Today it is one of the most successful schools in Aurora.
