Principals Corner

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Grant PTA Welcome Back BBQ last night! It was a beautiful evening filled with great food and conversations. Hoping we can keep this cool weather around for a bit!

This morning we surprised Mrs. Shollack with a Marvel-ous Friday! At one time at Grant Mrs. Shollack was known as Ms. Marvel that is where our THEME comes from. We all wore Superhero gear or Marvel Wear in her honor today to show how much we love her. Today is her birthday! We also wanted you all to know that Friday, September 29th will be her last day at Grant Elementary. She will be retiring so we are very excited for her and wish her well as she rests and relax with her husband Ron! Mrs. Shollack is by far one of the best educators I have had the privilege of working with. I hope anyone who wants to say their goodbyes to her can do so before she retires! No worries about coverage in Mrs. Shollack's classroom because that is why Mrs. Adams has been co-teaching with her this school year! Mrs. Adams is well known in our community and someone I have admired since coming to Grant Elementary so our students will continue to be in good hands! Please see the photo that we took this morning. We have the BEST staff!

Thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us!

Morning Announcement Students and a Couple of Creative Traffic Duty Supervisors

Every Morning we have 4th Grade students conduct morning announcements over the PA. This month we have Lucas and Alivia from Mrs. Shollack/Mrs. Adams' classroom doing them. They are doing a fantastic job! It's cute watching them practice every morning before they share them over the PA. They take this job very seriously which we enjoy seeing.

We had 2 goofballs Mr. Warner and Mr. Risko outside this morning conducting traffic duty with cone hats. We hope this made your Friday even better! Mrs. Pinta, Mrs. Parsons and Mrs. Mazzoni joined in as we could not let them have all the fun!!

Thank you Mr. Schnell for being our Title 1 teacher at Grant Elementary. Thank you for putting this together for our Grant Community.

Grant Character Element for SEPTEMBER is Growth Mindset!

A growth mindset is a theory or an idea that our brains are not fixed at a certain intelligence level. We can continue to expand our minds and intelligence by pushing ourselves to do new things, trying hard things, and redoing something until it’s successful. A fixed mindset is that either you can do it or you can’t. For example, either you can paint well or you can’t. There is no in-between.

Parent Volunteer Lunch and Recess Support Is Welcomed at Grant Elementary

This year we will be able to have parent volunteers help support lunch and recess if you have time in your day and love being around kids. During the first week of school the teachers, Noon Aides, and I work to build solid and consistent expectations for our students in the cafeteria and outside on our playground. Starting the week of September 5 we hope to have these down so that when our parents volunteer our students know the expectations and we WOW our volunteers when you come to help us out. Thank you in advance for joining us if you can. You may use this signup genius to let us know you will join us for the day.

HEALTH CHECK LIST

Staying Healthy

We know that with the start of the school year also comes an increased occurrence of colds, flu, and other illnesses. With regard to Covid-19 safety measures, there are no guidelines or requirements from the state or local health departments for schools this year. Therefore, our schools do not have “protocols,” per se, but we do encourage all families to use the following guidance as a “rule of thumb” when your student is not feeling well.
