Sphero
Sphero App
Begin by downloading the Sphero App. Connect it to your IPAD and you are ready to go! Spend a few minutes (or more) playing with Sphero to get a feel for what it can do.
APPs for Coding
There are several apps available that can be used to program the Sphero. Below are 3 of my favorites. Feel free to download one or more and give them a try.
Ready for a Challenge?
Now that you are familiar with Sphero, are you up for a challenge? If so, take a look below. See if there is anything that catches your interest!
Long Jump (400 points)
Program your robot to jump as far as possible off of a ramp and come to a stop. You may use the Sphero ramp or build your own. Tweet out a picture or video of your work.
BONUS: Add 100 points if I can see the drag and drop code in your video.

Bridge Crossing
Write a program to get your Sphero across the bridge. Sphero must start at least 5 feet from the bridge and must stop no more than 5 feet past the bridge. Tweet out a picture or video of your work.
BONUS: Add 100 points if your Sphero can go back over the bridge in the other direction.
Maze Mahem
Create an original maze using the materials from the classroom. Then navigate your Sphero through the maze as quickly as possible. You will have 5 attempts. Tweet out a picture or video of your work.
BONUS: Part of this challenge is the originality of your maze design, so be as creative as possible.

Hot Potato
Using the coding options available, create a hot potato game with Sphero as the potato. Remember, "Hot Potato" works best when the potato becomes hot at random intervals! Tweet out a video of your game.
