Love is the energy of life

Robert Browning was born on May 7, 1812, in London England.
He lived with his mother, a pianist and and evangelical christian, and his father, who was a bank clerk, artist, scholar, antiquarian (a person who collects antiques), and a collector of books.

Robert's first book

Robert had writen his first book, "Incondita." at age twelve, but it was not published. His first published poem though, was titled "Pauline." Another one of his more famous works is the laboratory. He was inspired by the 6000 books in his fathers library. He read those to pass his time.

His social life

  • Browning married Elizabeth Barret
  • Their relationship started with Robert loving Elizabeth's poetry
  • Robert and Elizabeth had a secret marriage because Elizabeth's father forbid his children to marry
  • They had a son, Robert Weidemen Barret Browning
  • he died on December 12th 1889 in his son's home in Venice, Italy
  • His cause of death is unspecified

  • He went to college for about a year
  • He learned how to speak Latin, Greek, and German
  • Browning learned how to become a doctor and medical procedures, but was never interested in becoming a doctor himself
