Technology Rules for Parents
By Denzie Taves
Rule #1
Keep your social media accounts private and only accessible to your friends. This keeps your pictures safe from people you don't know.
Rule #2
Don't text and drive. You can become unaware of what's happening on the road and can cause serious injury or death.
Rule #3
Don't share passwords even with friends. Your friend can easily become your enemy and use your account against you.
Rule #4
Don't click pop up adds. There could be links to viruses that could wreck your computer.
Rule #5
Don't post anything you might regret later. They could hurt you later in life and once you post something it cannot be deleted.
Rule #6
Don't tell people on line you don't know your first or last name. They could track you and you use info about you against you.
Rule #7
Don't say or do anything you wouldn't in real life. Pictures and texts can not be taken back and can be used against you.
Rule #8
Don't make usernames that could reveal your true identity. People online could find out who you are and where you live.
Rule #9
when making a password don't use real words and try to use numbers, symbols, or capitals. If a password is a real word then it makes it a lot easier for hackers to get your password.
Rule #10
Never agree to meet someone online. People aren't always who they say they are and could be dangerous.
