Beginnings Of Parkour
Parkour: A Training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assertive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible.
I chose Parkour because it seemed fun to be able to get from point A to point B the fastest, best looking way. You watch movies of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, they do flips, vaults and tick tacking. Everyone always admires people who can do that but you never really see anyone practice parkour.
Michael Genchev
"You can teach it when you can do it."
Bruce Lee
"Above all, a teacher does not depend on a method and drill systematic routines; instead, he studies each individual student and awakens him to explore himself, both internally and externally, and ultimately integrate himself with his being. Such teaching, which is really no teaching, requires a sensitive mind with great flexibility and is difficult to come by nowadays."

Front Flip Fail
One of the first times I did a Front Flip. It didn't end well for me when I landed ann I heard three crunches around my neck and spine. I was out of it for a few days. Let me just tell you, you only make that mistake once. I was a bit afraid to do front flips for a while after that. I'm still getting over it, but I have improved a lot.
Front tuck went horribly wrong
During Parkour
Some of the best times I had during my week was when I went to Parkour. I had made friends fast, and everyone else was supportive. Even when I would do something worth rolling on the floor laughing and teasing, I never felt embarrassed. I embraced the fact that I messed up and that I was just having a good time. You never felt judged by the instructors, they really were just trying to help you improve yourself.
What My Parents Think
“He use to get home everyday and apply Ice, or put on an ACE bandage. One time he got really hurt and didn't tell us. I rather him not go throwing himself off of roofs, but he has gotten a lot better at it. He does not come home apply ice, he comes home with excitement.” -Mom
In the Future
I will still continue going to parkour, It has become something that I love a lot and even with my busy schedule I will make time for it. I really want to improve my skills and impress the people in my life with that I have learned. I know that this isn't really a career choice skill unless you are an actor but I really want to continue down this path for a long time.
