Field Flash
February 1, 2021
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope your family is well and staying warm. This past week really welcomed in winter! As we move ahead into February, we look forward to a number of special events.
This week, Wednesday, February 3rd is an in-person day for cohort B. As a reminder, the full calendar of hybrid days/rotation is posted here.
Also on Wednesday, we hope you and your family will join our virtual World Read Aloud event! Mrs. Schaab, Ms. Bauer, Mrs. Donnelly, and I will share a special read aloud book, and we are thrilled to have the author join us as well! We hope you might also participate in our PTO dine-out events, featuring two restaurants that connect to the book (pizza and tacos!). Check out this newsletter from Mrs. Schaab for all the details, including the Zoom link.
Later this month, we will host school pictures. Please be sure to review the information below regarding online ordering. All orders will be taken online, and no paper or money will be passed or handed in on picture days. Please be sure to mark your calendars!
For our in-person families, thank you for your participation in our new lanyard system. Each morning we will Look for the Lanyard around your child's neck. The lanyard will signal to us that you've conducted the daily health certification. This means you've checked your child's temperature at home and reviewed the symptoms checklist. If your child comes to school without the lanyard, our nurse will check your child's temperature and review the symptoms. We'll follow up with parents via email. Thanks for helping us as we Look for the Lanyard! This program has been very successful so far with most of our students wearing their lanyards each day.
We'd like to provide an important reminder about our morning arrival procedures. Please remember if you are using the "Kiss and Go" lanes on Elmore or Wisner you must remain in your car. You are not able to park, get out, and walk your child to the door from these locations. If you'd like to walk your child to the blacktop, please be sure to park legally in another location. Thank you so much for your cooperation!
Finally, I wanted to share a bit about a challenge your child(ren) has/have learned about in P.E. Mrs. Meza introduced us to the 1,000 hours outside challenge. Click here for more details. If this is of interest to your family, there are free printable charts on the website.
We hope you all have a nice weekend! Stay warm!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney Goodman
Principal
