May's Happenings!
Science: Annnnnd, we’re back! Welcome back to our Science students who are back in the building! It’s been great having so many of you back in the classroom and getting to meet you in “real life!” What a fantastic way for us to finish out the year together! I’ve been enjoying having you in the room to share experiments in-person. So far this term, we’ve had some pretty fun experiences: elephant toothpaste, slime, oobleck, whoosh bottles, flaming cow fart bubbles, and more! We will continue to share these scientific experiences with you until the end of the year. We will also be continuing with our lessons in trying to figure out what is making our patient, Elisa, tired all the time. We will finally know which medical condition affects Elisa: diabetes, asthma, or anemia. Let’s make this last month a great one and make this year one to remember in Science class for all the GOOD reasons. We’ve got this! :) Ms. Purviance
ELA: We are almost there! This month you will be researching the great leader you chose and creating a google slides presentation on that person with plenty of pictures, charts, videos, and more to show me and your peers what makes your chosen leader so great. We will be recording/presenting at the end of this month, so get pumped and prepared. You will rock these presentations! :) —Mrs. Anderson
ELA: Greeting parents and students, we are almost done. We are currently working on our biography of great leaders. Each student has an individual and will be creating a google slide presentation. This presentation will focus on choices and how those choices made a positive impact on society. Students will include pictures and videos demonstrating why their person is a great leader. We will present these the last two weeks of school. Mrs. Ray
Geography: Hallo Geographers! We are closing in on the finish line, and things are shaping up for a great Cultural Fair! Remember, if you are in Cohort A, we will share your presentation with McNeel students and staff on Tuesday, May 18. If you are in Cohort B, you will be presenting on Thursday, May 20. Both presentation days are from 2:15 - 3:45. Keep working on gathering information from your research, and sending pictures to be printed (or print them yourself), and also any “static” display you would like to share. Remember, there is no food allowed at this event, and no spectators. I am so proud of the work I have seen so far, and I cannot wait to see all of your finished presentations! When we are finished with the Cultural Fair, we will continue to explore Europe, and parts of Asia. Auf Weidersehen!
Math: Hey 7th Grade Rockstars! We have enjoyed seeing so many of you coming into the building this term and would love to see you more while you are working at home virtually. We are going to do amazing this last full month of school. During the month of Maty we will be tackling the FORWARD Exam and you will all do great! Once that is done, we will be focusing on Chapter 6: Percents. Keep working hard and give your all each and every day! Remember any time you need help with assignments to e-mail or check in the afternoons. -Mr. Pickett and Ms. Breidenstein
Advanced Math: Hello Advanced All Stars! It has been so great developing our classroom dynamic this year and now that I am seeing most of you in person it has been so fun. I appreciate all of you - distance and in-person! We are going to rock this last full month of school. During the month of May we will be tackling the FORWARD Exam and you will all do amazing! Once that is done, we will be working on Chapter 4: Graphing and Writing Linear Equations and Chapter 8: Exponents and Scientific Notation. Again, this may be all new, but that is part of the challenge and you will all do awesome! Remember any time you need help with assignments to e-mail and I will find time to hold office hours in the afternoons. -Ms. Breidenstein
SLA DLI: ¡Bienvenidos! - Sra. Montalvo
