Dear Sabre Families,
The weather is chillier so we hope our Sabre families are staying warm and taking care. This week brings us back to a full five day week, and looking at our timeline, we are three weeks away from our traditional fall break in Elk Island Public Schools.
Maybe a bit too early to think about Christmas shopping but what better way to stay warm than with one of our Sal hoodies! Here is the link to our Sal online store for our Sabre families. CLICK HERE
With the recent announcement from Alberta Education around the shifting requirement of diploma exams, we are also looking at adjusting the requirements for our 10 and 20 level final exams. For more information, please see the FAQ from Alberta Education below.
Plain and simple, during a global pandemic and the stress we understand families and our students specifically feel, the mandating of final exams will be relaxed. Stay tuned for more detail in next week’s edition of the Parent Sabre Scene around the parameters.
Also, please note that we are planning a modified Awards Ceremony for our student recipients from the 2019 -20 school year during the last week of November. We feel strongly at SAL the importance of recognizing these milestones and student achievements.
Upcoming and starting in Quarter 2 in the Sabre Scene, I will be including data from recent years and what we are doing as a school to evolve, adapt and improve. The goal is multifold, but to highlight, we are aiming and being intentional around continuing with being transparent and to also engage further conversation and to ensure our Sabre parents are informed, involved and aware.
Have an awesome week folks. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
