Jaguar Update
Sunset Valley Elementary - September 10, 2020
Flood's Flash
For our 4th-6th Virtual families,
Please watch for communication from your child's teacher with information about a supply pick up that we have scheduled for next week. On Thursday and Friday, some of our classes/students will have supplies to support their virtual learning. If you have a younger child in K-3, we can send supplies home with them as well to prevent an extra trip to school.
For R7 Online families,
We realize that there have been bumps along the way. And we thank you for the patience as those kinks get worked out. Everyone involved at the district level is working diligently to ensure learning for all. If you have a question about your child's learning for R7 Online, please contact the teacher and the designated R7 Online Administrator. We are always happy to help at the building level, but there may be times that we don't have the answers, as the R7 Online Academy does run separately from what is happening with our "in person" track students. We want you to have the quickest, most accurate information and you will hopefully get that by reaching out directly to them. :)
The laughter and the conversation among students has been wonderful to hear. Despite being in the middle of a pandemic, it feels just like it always did. Please reach out if you need anything!
Best, Mrs. Rachel Flood
CAR RIDER TIPS AND INFO
Thank you for being mindful of our policies and procedures that we have in place to keep students and staff safe. Whether new or returning SVE Jaguar Families, the following information should be helpful for arrival and dismissal procedures for school.
Morning Car Rider:
- If you arrive after 9:00am, please plan to walk your child to the front doors and sign them in.
- It helps our line run smoothly if your child has all items in hand and is prepared to exit the vehicle when you pull to the front.
- Pull all the way up to the first Jaguar Paw, as this allows us to load/unload several cars at once. Typically, by the second week of school, everyone has gotten the hang of the car rider line and it flows quickly.
Afternoon Car Rider:
- While in the car rider line for afternoon pickup, please have your car rider sign with the last name visible in the windshield. We are moving to last names instead of numbers, with the hopes that it can help us move as quickly as possible.
- Please keep the car rider sign in the window until you pull away with your child. This helps all of the adults: from collecting names to delivering your child. Thank you for helping us out with this.
- Feel free to pull into a parking spot for any situations that could benefit from extra time without a line of cars staring at you. :) Car seat buckling, untied shoes, lost items, etc. This will allow our line to continue at a timely pace.
As always, thank you for being so wonderful to ensure safety and timeliness for our Jaguars.

A few notes on protocols and health guidelines for LSR7
* Staff and students wear masks at all times unless we are taking a mask break while socially distanced.
* Students will hand wash and/or sanitize hands each time they leave and enter a new space. Ex: from classroom to art, from PE to recess, from classroom to lunch, etc. . .
* Classroom desks/tables will be sanitized each time students eat breakfast.
* Students will maintain consistent seating charts in classrooms, at lunch, in special class and students will have assigned line orders. These practices will help us should we need to contact trace.
* The schedule has been build with extra time in between recesses and special class so equipment and materials can be cleaned.
