Traffic Update
I want to again thank each of you for your continued support of student safety during drop-off and pick up. It has been great to see fewer cars dropping off/picking up students on Alcosta Boulevard, vehicles pulling up as close to the roundabout as possible when dropping off/picking up as a courtesy to those that are coming behind you, for yielding to traffic in the roundabout (and not picking up/dropping off in the roundabout), utilizing all the parking stalls in Area 2, and respecting our neighbors at Bishop Ranch and on Woodland Ave.
One of the best pieces of advice that we can give to reduce the likelihood of an extended wait to pick up your student is to arrive at school 10-15 minutes after the bell rings to dismiss students. There is a strong staff presence at the front of the school during that time period.
Our observations and communications with the City of San Ramon, SRPD, and SRVUSD have been on going since we made the changes to the traffic pattern at the beginning of the school year. With the input of each group, and the feedback we have received from the parent community, we are asking that beginning Monday, October 14, if you plan to travel northbound on Alcosta after pick up/drop-off, that you use Area 1 and if you are traveling southbound that you use Area 2. There will be no right turns allowed out of the turnaround on to Alcosta. We want to try this to increase safety for students that are crossing Alcosta at the light.
If you have concerns please reach out to me or you can contact Assistant Director of Secondary Education, Chris George, cgeorge@srvusd.net

The Run for Education is only one week away!
Saturday & Sunday, October 12/13 is The Run For Education.
Our number of running participants has increased! Thank you!!
We still need about 60 people to register to have at least 170 registered runners to earn a $200 bonus for our school.

Dine-in/Take Out in October
Sakiya Sushi the entire month of October!
AVID Tutors Needed
AVID needs regular Tuesday and Thursday volunteers to act as "tutors" during 2nd and/or 3rd period!
College students, retirees, parents, and grandparents all make excellent tutors!
AVID tutorial volunteers do NOT need to be experts in a subject, they just need to be enthusiastic and willing to facilitate the inquiry process for a small group.
AVID tutors will be trained by the district prior to beginning work in the classroom. This training will help give tutors the confidence and skills needed to help out students succeed! All volunteers must be cleared to volunteer on campus (Level 1) through the district's Be a Mentor program.
