American Bald Eagle was almost extinct -

Why Eagles Almost Went Extinct

Eagles almost extinct in the 1950s because of the DDT in the fish that got transferred into the eagles when they ate the fish. When the eagles ate the fish it went into their bodies and it affected them enough to decrease the population, and if it decreases too much, the eagles will become on the endangered species list. But if the eagles did become extinct, there might be an overpopulation of large fish because the eagles eat the lager fish for food and then the ecosystem might become out of balanced.
