DISTRICT CHAMPIONS
Congratulations Mountaineer Wrestling!
On Wednesday, February 7,
the Varsity Wrestling team won their third consecutive District Championship!

IM 48 Bark River Harris 30
Congratulations to the NINE Iron Mountain Mountaineers who placed in Individual Districts will advance to Individual Regionals!
Alex Wilson, Brandon Truong, Tyler Winch, Di’Angelo Saldana, Danny Manier, Fulton Stroud, Bradon Walstrom and Giovanni Saldana will wrestle at Regionals on Saturday in Charlevoix. Shayna Hruska will compete at Girls Regionals on Sunday.
The team will compete this Wednesday at Team Regionals in St. Ignace. Go Mountaineers!
February 15 is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day!
We remind local families to show up to the voting booths on Tuesday, February 27 to vote for a renewal on the current School Resource Officer millage!
Without the renewal of this millage, we will lose our district's valuable School Liason Officer.
Iron Mountain Public Schools has had a Liason Officer for over sixteen years and would suffer significantly without this valuable position. Please show up to the polls on February 27 and vote in favor of the renewal. Thank you!
High School Bowl team moves onto next round
GO MOUNTAINEERS! If you missed it on air, catch Iron Mountain defeat Mackinaw City in the initial round of WNMU-TV's 2023-24 high school quiz tournament, hosted by Jim Koski with the link below. Teams from across the Northern Michigan and Wisconsin compete in the annual single-elimination tournament.

Stay hydrated, stay focused
Nurse Cookie and Nurse Rachel have seen rising numbers of students with signs of dehydration.
Chapped lips, darkened eyes and headaches are some of the first signs of dehydration.
Please encourage your student to drink water throughout the day, it is important to the learning process.
We also encourage you to send your student with a reusable water bottle that can be filled at the various refill stations throughout campus.
Read about the benefits of drinking more water here.

Sprite Night
It was an exciting night in the Mountaineer Gymnasium Friday, February 2 for the boys basketball game vs Ishpeming! The Mountaineer Junior Cheerleaders performed at halftime and then cheered on our "Sprite Night" contestants in their attempt to make a half court shot and win free Sprite for a year!
Weston and Cartier took their "shot" and, although they didn't make their attempt, they both walked away with a case of Sprite and a memory! Special thanks to Bink's Coca-Cola for sponsoring the event and making the night memorable for the students and fans!
Congratulations Mountaineer bowlers!
Congratulations to the Co-op Mountaineer boy and girls that qualified in UP Bowling Finals February 3 and February 10! Blake Flaminio qualified fifth and finished in first place in Boys UP Finals. Aiden Bourassa qualified 4th, Bryce Salo qualified 12th, and Ben Cook qualified 14th.
This past weekend in Girls UP Finals, Abby Ward qualified 2nd and Emily Lautzenheiser qualified 12th. Emily made it to the final four in semi-finals, which is very impressive. Great job, ladies!
GO MOUNTAINEERS!
