Goshen Lane celebrated their We Are the World event by coming together to celebrate their community. Students and their families enjoyed cuisine, games and crafts from around the world, and much of the cuisine was made by Goshen Lane families. Regina Bond, author of Buzz the Premier Bee, was also a part of the celebration with a book reading and signing.
Middle School Shadow Day
From Cupcakes to Construction
April 27 was the official "Take your child to work day", offering students a glimpse into various career paths available to them. GJPS also arranged group shadow days for eighth graders across the District to do career exploration with some of our local business partners:
- Mifflin Township Fire Department
- Gahanna Division of Police
- Turner Construction
- Abercrombie & Fitch Distribution Center
- Yellow Weld
- Resch's Bakery
- And many more!
Many thanks to our community partners who supported our eighth grade students this week as they explored possible career opportunities!
Lincoln High School
Out of this World!
Students in the GLHS Space Tech class presented their end-of-the-year projects this week to a team of judges. Students learn to develop and test their own space rovers as part of Project Vesta. The students act as designers, engineers and mission control while attempting to land a rover on the asteroid Vesta and earn the class "NASA contract".
Lincoln High School
Global Scholars Share Projects
The Global Scholars Diploma is a 3-year program from the Columbus Council on World Affairs and the GLHS Business & Technology Academy that develops globally competent high school students by building the awareness and skills needed to take action on a global issue and to become responsible citizens of the world.
Students engage in activities and interact with dynamic speakers as they develop skills in global cultures, global careers and global issues.
The program culminates with a Take Action project in the students’ third year that is meant to demonstrate the abilities that they have cultivated over the course of the first two years. Students choose a globally-oriented issue about which they are passionate, and they pursue a leadership role in solving it at a local level.
