TeamWorks Fundraising
- We need your help!!!! We have kicked off our TeamWorks fundraiser at Walkertown Middle. We are raising money for our general fund that helps all WMS students. Your contribution to this fundraiser will make a difference in our success.
- This is how can help us. You can simply go to the website or scan the QR code on the flyer attached to make donations. Your student can also create an account on the website and then send us 10 emails or more. The emails will be used to ask for donations. The more money your student raises the more prizes they receive!!!
- Please check out our website or social media pages for more information. All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a receipt in your email. Thanks in advance for your support. Go Wolf Pack!
- Share this webpage and kindly tag friends on Facebook and Twitter, we would greatly appreciate it. https://www.myteamworks.org/walkertown
Monitoring Student's Social Media at Home
- We are experiencing social media challenges that are disrupting the school day.
- While we spend a lot of time investigating cyberbullying incidents we are noticing a lot of the non school related conversations start after school hours.
- Please partner with us by supervising your students online activity after school hours.

Repeat Reminders:
SCHOOL DRESS EXPECTATIONS
- The Winston Salem/Forsyth County Schools have adopted a system-wide dress code. Students at Walkertown Middle are expected to adhere to this code. Parents are asked to familiarize themselves with the dress code as well. Students who come to school and are inappropriately dressed the first time will have to call a parent and have appropriate clothing brought to them. We also have a clothing closet with clean, school-appropriate items that students may use if needed. Additional violations of the Dress Code will result in administrative action.
- All students are expected to dress appropriately and in good taste for the school day, including after school activities. Students should not dress in provocative or revealing attire. Any article of clothing or manner of dress which is determined by the building administrators to materially or substantially interfere with the education process is prohibited.
The following items are prohibited:
1. Bare feet
2. Tank tops, spaghetti straps, strapless shirts, low cut, and tube tops.
3. Halter or bare midriff tops or bare midriffs
4. Provocative, revealing attire that exposes cleavage
5. Mesh shirts or open-sided shirts
6. Short shorts or skirts (need to come down to the middle of the thigh)
7. Underpants or bras showing or worn as outerwear
8. Clothing that contains advertisements for tobacco, alcohol, or drugs; pictures or graphics of nudity; words that are profane,
lewd, vulgar, or indecent
9. Hats, caps, hoods, bandannas or garments which cover the student’s face or conceal the student’s identity.
10. Pants, slacks or jeans that sag below the waist
11. Pajama pants, bedroom slippers or blankets
12. Any symbols, styles, or attire frequently associated with gangs, intimidation, violence, or violent groups about which
students at a particular school have been notified as described in AR 5131.4
13. Holes in the pants need to be at or below the acceptable length for shorts (see number 6)
We are specifically requiring that shorts be long enough to reach half way down your thigh. Students will be asked to
change out of any clothes that do not comply with this policy. We will be giving P.E. uniforms to students to wear
throughout the day. If your child asks to call home to have you bring a change of clothes for them to wear, we will allow
that, but we are not requiring it.
Preventing Sickness At School
- As we think about the new year, we also want to remind parents that the flu, RSV, COVID, and other illnesses are still prevalent in the community. In an effort to keep everyone healthy, please remember not to send students to school sick. Continue to remain aware of the signs and symptoms of these illnesses and always check with your healthcare provider if you have questions, before returning to the school environment.
Attendance-Every Minute Matters
- As we talk about school attendance, we also want to remind you that while we don’t want students and staff sick, at school, student attendance is otherwise of utmost importance.
- Beginning this month and through the remainder of the year we will share information about why “Every Minute Matters.” We want students in school all day, every day, as we know attendance is tied to student achievement.
