Origin
Redbone Coonhounds date back to red foxhounds brought over by Scottish immigrants in the late 1700's. They are a mix of bloodhounds and foxhounds. But their origin is the United States of America.

Use
Redbone coonhounds are used to hunt cougars, bears, and are known for their hunting raccoons. There agility allows them to be used for hunting from swamplands to mountains. Because they were bred to be hunting dogs they need lots of exercise and activity.
