AP Exams will take place starting Monday, May 2 and running the full two weeks of May 2 and May 9 at FHS. Parents/guardians and students who are taking AP exams should carefully and thoroughly review the 3-page document linked here for important information and details regarding the upcoming exams. Please specifically note the dates and times of the specific exams and also note that some of the information requires planning in advance. Students should also check the FHS AP Google Classroom for updates. We wish our students the best as they take their AP exams!

Seniors interested in attending the class trip to Great America on June 3rd: be sure to bring your signed permission slip and $50 (cash or check) to the main office before May 9th.

A reminder that graduation for the Class of 2022 will be held at the American Family Field on Saturday, June 11th at 4:00 PM.

Every graduate will receive 4 free complimentary tickets. We will be selling additional graduation tickets beginning Monday, May 16 for $8 each. Families were emailed this letter on Friday will full details regarding tickets.

Any seniors who have not picked up their cap and gown orders can stop by the office to pick them up. If you forgot to place your order with Jostens, we also have items for sale.

• Cap, Gown, and Tassel - $50

The Commencement Group offers pre-sales of flowers for graduates. All online orders will be available for pickup on site the day of the graduation. To retrieve your order, stop at the booth located conveniently in the parking lot near the entrance to the graduation before the ceremony begins. Use this link to take a look at their selection.

This year, the Franklin Educational Foundation is assisting with ordering and distribution of the FHS Class of 2022 Senior Yard signs. Signs can be pre-purchased through this link

Signs will be available for pickup in the FHS Commons after school (2:30pm-3:30pm) on Wednesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 19th. Any proceeds raised from this sale will go toward 2023 Senior Scholarship Awards.

Reminder that the Senior Honors Night will be Wednesday May 18th at 6:30. An email was sent to invited students to RSVP their intent to attend. Traditionally we recognize students with a 3.5+ (unweighted) GPA, select scholarships and students of the year for each high school department.

The FHS National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at 7:00 pm in the Saber Center for the Performing Arts.

We have not been able to hold an in-person Culture Fest since early March of 2020. We are very proud to share that event is coming back. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 19th from 5:30-7:30 at Franklin High School. Come experience food, performances, activities and cultural presentations. We currently have Objiwe dancers and African drummers lined up with many more conversations occurring. As we communicated with all families last Monday, Franklin Public Schools has entered a partnership with Advocate Aurora Health Care to provide counseling options for students and families on a variety of topics. The well-being of our students and families is paramount in helping us to be a better community. The Student and Family Assistance Program (SFAP) is operating now and is available to all students and members of their households within our district AT NO COST and offers up to (4) free one-hour sessions with a licensed counselor per issue on a variety of topics related to mental health. • CASES ON THE UPTICK: We have been experiencing more positive COVID-19 cases this week amongst students and staff across the district. This is consistent with what is being seen in and around the community. We ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.

• TESTING CHANGES: Walk-in on-site testing through FPS is no longer available for students and their family members. Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs. • As shared in this update from the March 11th Newsletter, we will resume publishing dashboard updates if the Milwaukee County rating moves to high.

The Saber Center for the Performing Arts will be opening up to more community-focused events and activities and Franklin Public Schools is seeking feedback from the community on what types of events are desired at the Saber Center for the Performing Arts. To access our Saber Center Feedback Survey, you can click/tap the associated QR code, scan the code with your mobile device or go to tinyurl.com/scfdbk in your browser. If you know community members that are not parents in the school district (and do not directly receive our newsletters), please pass them the survey so they can offer feedback too! The survey will also be included in our OPENING DOORS insert in the City Newsletter that goes out to all city mailboxes around May 20th. The survey will close at the end of May. Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback that will impact the programming we can offer for the community.

Forte Theatre Company is holding auditions for their summer youth musical production, Frozen Jr! Based on the 2018 Broadway musical, this enchanting show will bring Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life on the Saber Center stage!

Auditions: May 24th & 25th, 4-6 pm (please sign up for one 15 min time slot)

Audition location: FHS Choir Room

Ages: 10-18

Callbacks: Thursday, May 26th, 4-8 pm

Rehearsals: June 28th thru July 28th

Performances: August 5th - 7th at the FHS Saber Center

Our Board of Education continues to make progress on the hiring of the next Superintendent. Please see the newest update in the Superintendent Search process that was posted to our website here on Friday.

Did you know you could join a club mountain biking team? Root River Composite is a Wisconsin Interscholastic Cycling League team affiliated with NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association), and is open to all students in the school districts of Greendale, Greenfield, Franklin, and Whitnall that are entering grades 6-12. Practices begin in July and are held at Kegel-Alpha trail (near The Rock) two nights per week, and there will be occasional weekend rides to destination trails. Students that join must provide their own trail-worthy bike and helmet (this will be inspected by the coaches), have their own transportation to and from practices and events, and have a desire to learn how to mountain bike on trail systems! There are 5 optional races that students can enter in the fall, if they are interested in racing, but many athletes participate just to learn how to be a better biker, improve their fitness, make friends, and have fun! The Community Education & Recreation Department is proud to partner with Challenger Sports to offer soccer opportunities for our youth ages 3-14 this summer. Challenger Sports runs over 3,500 professionally staffed summer camps and year-round coaching programs for players of all ages and abilities. In addition to helping develop your child’s core soccer skills and understanding of the game, Challenger's camp philosophy encourages children to: become independent learners; to develop socially; and to better understand the meaning of respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and leadership.
