Mardi Gras
Parents and Community Members:
New Tech High @ Coppell is hosting our biennial Mardi Gras festival on February 25th, 2017. Learners and staff have been soliciting businesses and community partners for tangible items or monetary donations for items to auction off in our live and silent auctions. We would like to reach out to the NTH@C community to see if any members are willing to donate items that we would be able to use in the live and silent auctions. Items include things such as air miles, box seats to a certain venue, a golf lesson at a country club, or any gift cards or tangible items. We are striving to surpass our goals this year and with your generous collaboration we would be able to do that. Thank you for supporting New Tech and supporting Mardi Gras in the past. Please contact Michael Kennington mkennington@coppellisd.com with any donation that could help support this event.Learner Applications
Information about the TSI for Sophomores
As you know, one requirement for graduation from New Tech High @ Coppell is the completion of 4 measures of college readiness (a combination of dual credit courses and/or scores of 3 or better on AP exams). In order to begin taking dual credit courses you have to take the TSI Exam (or meet other eligibility requirements found HERE). We will be offering the TSI exam on campus Wednesday, March 1st, at 9:05am. ALL Sophomores will be taking this exam. Below are tasks that need to be completed before learners can take the TSI. These must be done by February 17th:
- All sophomores will need to do the college application for dual credit and get your college ID number.
- If you don’t get a college ID number, you will need to go to North Lake’s admissions office (Irving Campus) and have your application processed by the admissions staff.
- Once you have a college ID number, you will need to set up your eConnect Account and do the TSI Pre-Assessment Test (located within your eConnect Account). When you complete the TSI Pre-Assessment, you will received a “Confirmation Page,” which will show your name, college ID number, and how you scored on the Pre-Assessment.
- Once you get the Confirmation Page, bring that to Mr. Kennington and you are ready to take the TSI. This and all of the above must be completed by February 17th.
If you have any questions throughout this process, then please e-mail, call, or come see me on campus. DO NOT wait until the last minute. Get this completed as soon as possible.
Mr. Kennington
