We are going to the Great Salt Lake

The Lakeside Learning Field Trip Program is a 2.5 hours inquiry based educational field trip for 4th grade students. The trips combine informal environmental education strategies while incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) to reinforce the Utah Common Core State Science Standards. Lakeside Learning emphasizes learning through participation.

The trip includes wetlands exploration/discussion, bird watching, and wading in Great Salt Lake (weather permitting). Our students will get their hands dirty and their feet wet!

Monday, Sep. 26th, 8:30am

Great Salt Lake, UT, United States

This is an all day field experience. We will be returning home in time for carpool. Volunteers are needed and wanted. Feel free to let Mrs. Jenkins know if you would like to attend. We need many hands at this experience. If you are volunteering to come, please bring your own lunch or notify the school if you'd like school lunch that day.

Please have your child prepared with the following:

Any items needed for the long bus ride such as a book, backpack, electronics are fine as long as they are responsible with them, snacks etc.

Water bottle

Good shoes for walking and possibly water shoes. The students are allowed to get their feet wet in a particular area.

Any other items are welcome as long as the children can keep track of their own possessions.
