Grandpa's Winter NOAA Data
By: Hailey Gorter, Gracie Simonsen, and Morgan Van Der Brink
Historical Climate
1. There has also been increased cloud cover, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere during the past century
2.water vapor is the most abundant greenhouse gas, low clouds also shade and cool the surface.
3. low precipitation because of the droughts
4. highest CO2 levels of concentration (highest in over 400,000 years)
5.numerous hurricanes and typhoons, influenza breakouts, droughts and famines which plays roles in the climate
Data Charts
January Precipitation
The highest precipitation was 52 mm. The lowest precipitation was 2 mm.
January Temperature
The highest temperature was 0 and the lowest temperature was -18.
Compare
The two graphs show that when there is more precipitation then the lower the temperature is going to be.
Conclusion
Yes; it was colder back then. The reason why is because less people and that means less carbon dioxide in the air. Our graphs show that there was low temperature. Also, the precipitation graph showed that since the temperature was colder, the more precipitation it produced.
