Compassion-Based Strategies for Managing Election Related Dialogue in the Classroom
Date/Time: Wednesday, October 28, 3:30 - 4:30
Facilitators: Nadia Mitchell and Rebecca Mills

As we head into the election tensions are growing across our community as students, staff and faculty grapple with the implications for this election year and the various ways election outcomes can impact their lives. This time is set aside to provide an opportunity for faculty to engage in proactive dialogue about managing classroom conversations surrounding the upcoming election and political environment.

Participants, please read the following articles in preparation for the discussion: Humanizing Politics and Compassion Mapping (exploring activism) and Compassion-Based Strategies for Managing Classroom Behavior

As you all likely know, St. Michael's College confirmed an outbreak on their campus last week. We are in regular contact with the state health department and the city of Burlington to monitor the situation and its potential impacts for our community. Champlain continues to pay attention and learn from their real-time experience. Here is a link where you can learn more.
