Clown Day 2019
August 3rd, 2019 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
The Gator Clowns invite you to celebrate Clown Day with us!
What is Clown Day?
On October 8, 1970 a joint resolution was passed in Congress(Public Law 91-443), authorizing and requesting the President of the United States to issue a proclamation making August 1-7, 1971 National Clown Week. On August 2, 1971 U.S. President Richard Nixon issued Proclamation 4071 , making August 1-7, 1971 National Clown Week.
While the proclamation and resolution was made for a specific date and year, this celebration of clowns has occurred at exactly the same time every year. It is always August 1-7.
About Us
Gator Clowns of Jacksonville, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that relies on volunteers to help promote the art of clowning. It is also a working clown alley that lifts the spirits of residents of the North Florida and South Georgia area by reaching out to charity organizations through laughter.
We receive numerous requests throughout the year and attempt to support as many events as possible. However, being all volunteers, we are always on the lookout for people who are willing to give of themselves to spread joy and laughter.
Gator Clowns of Jacksonville is the oldest, active Clown Alley in North America and has a tradition of showing that.
"Clowning is an art...from the heart."
Let Gator Clowns help "Discover the Clown in you!"
