The Senior Program staff encourages you to finish the Crosby Scholars program strong. You have come this far with us, and you will benefit from finishing!
Crosby Scholars offers the following benefits to all students:
- One-to-one guidance in college admissions and financial aid
- Individual recognition at the Crosby Senior Honors Gala April 29th
- Individual recognition at your HS Senior Awards Day
- Graduation distinction with special Crosby Scholars honor cords
- Eligibility to apply for scholarships unique to Crosby Scholars
- Eligibility to apply for a Last Dollar Grant, if weighted GPA is 2.0 or higher
Scholarships for Crosby Scholars only
We encourage Crosby Scholars to apply for these scholarships that are only available to students who complete our program. You will have access to these applications through your Crosby portal. Log-in and click the Scholarships tab to view all the details. Pay special attention to deadlines and requirements for completing the applications.
All scholarship recipients will be announced on Sunday, April 29, at the Crosby Scholars Senior Gala.
Antonio and Victoria Muñoz Scholarship
Applications are available now. Deadline: Friday, February 16th.
Sponsored by Gegorek and Associates a $500 scholarship is available for a Spanish speaking applicant with at least one parent from Mexico.
Alice and Fred Stanback Scholarship $25,000
Application available now. Deadline: Friday, February 23rd.
This is a one-time-only, $25,000 scholarship to be paid over four years, honoring Alice and Fred Stanback and celebrating Crosby Scholars’ 5th year in Rowan County.
The recipient will demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, community involvement, with a distinct interest in the environment. Consideration to financial need will be given. The recipient will attend a 4-year college or university.
Joyce Kohfeldt Determination Award
Application available online. Deadline: Tuesday, February 27th.
This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: actively participates in community service and extra-curricular activities, and clearly expresses in an essay how any events or special circumstances have impacted his/her educational experience as well as any adversities he/she has overcome.
Paul Fisher Scholarship
Application goes live February 8th. Deadline: Friday, March 9th.
This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: Be a first-generation college student; student essay; attend a 4-year college or university
Sue P. Fisher Scholarship
Application goes live February 15th. Deadline: Friday, March 16th.
This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: Be in good standing with Crosby Scholars and complete all requirements, Be a first generation college student, and completed a minimum reported 10 hours of community service during time as a Crosby Scholar.
Goodwill Willpower Scholarship
Application goes live on February 22nd. Deadline: Friday, March 23rd.
This is a $1500 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: activities resume and essay are required; recipient must enroll in 2- or 4-year college.
John A. Carter Memorial Scholarship
Application goes live on March 1st. Deadline: Friday, April 6th.
This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: from a middle income family with a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher who clearly expresses in an essay which adult in his/her life has had the most impact on him/her and why.
John O. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship
Application goes live on March 8th. Deadline: Monday, April 9th.
This is a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
Requirements: from a family with demonstrated financial need who plans to attend a two or or four year college or university, cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.25 or higher, and 2 short essays.

Health Care Symposium: February 19th 6-8 pm
Monday, February 19th 6-8 pm @ the Wallace Educational Building.
** College Fair/Tour credit will be given if needed.
College Survival: February 28th 6-7:30pm
Held at the Rowan Public Library in Salisbury and hosted by Crosby Scholars. Students must pre-register in the Crosby Scholars portal.
You got accepted. Your funding is secure. You sent in an enrollment deposit. You might even have a roommate assignment. But what will you do when you get there?
Understanding Student Loans: March 15th 6-7:30pm
Join us Thursday, March 15th from 6-7:30 to learn about Student Loans from a CFNC Representative. The location will be the Randy Hemann Room located at 225 N. Main Street, behind the Crosby Scholars office.
Seating is limited so sign-up in the portal quickly!

Searching for scholarships can be very overwhelming! Start local and work your way out. Check with your school's counseling office, employers and retailers, civic organizations, churches, etc. And of course, check your college's financial aid page for potential scholarships. Millions of scholarship applications can be found online through a simple Google search. Just make sure to never pay when applying or searching for scholarships!
