Serve Others this Christmas
How are you serving others this Christmas Season? Many families, congregations and even companies choose to carve out some time in their holiday season to intentionally reach out and serve others less fortunate in their communities. If you are planning to serve in a special way this season, we want to hear about it! Email us by replying to this update and let us know what your plans are, or take a picture of your service project and post it on social media, making sure to tag us - @serveunited. If you don't have any plans yet, check out the Participating Organizations that are doing great work in the community and often have special service opportunities around the Christmas season. Or, you can view our regional service calendar for more ways to serve. Christmas is a season that can bring much joy, but is also filled with much heartache for individuals and families who are reminded of loss during this time. Let's point others to the hope and joy that Jesus brought and brings through serving others this Christmas season!

Director, Serve United
a strategic organization of The ACTS Group
On December 1, “Giving Tuesday”, we launched our “Give a Ten” campaign. We realized that if everyone who has benefited from Serve United simply gave $10, it would be a game changer to close the year! As you give, remember that your local church comes first, then extra giving outward to missions and causes you believe in. Because you have known about, believed in, prayed for and/or financially supported Serve United and the ACTS Group, we are calling upon you to give in December. We are praying for at least 1000 of our 3000 person community to participate in these ways:
1. Please click here to donate $10 or more to Serve United today. This link is simple and goes through our Leadership website Convergence.World. OR, you can click here to set up monthly giving or give 10x10 ($100) or 10 "cubed" ($1000) on our main online giving platform. You can designate Serve United if you desire!
2. Please forward this newsletter to 10 people inviting them to sign up for the newsletter or link to one of our online communities through Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
Every School Parntership Update: Meeting with BeUndivided team
Last week, several of the Every School Partnership team met with the team from BeUndivided in Portland to talk about strategies to increase church/school partnership in the Greater Sacramento region. We are excited about the experience and knowledge BeUndivided will be bringing to help churches in our region as they begin new partnerships or strengthen existing partnerships with local schools. Be ready to hear the broadcast and podcast we recorded on January 8!
Every School Partnership short term goal is to see 100 churches commit to and serve a local school during the 2015-2016 school calendar. Our long term goal is to see every public elementary, middle and high school with a church partner by the end of the 2017-2018 school year. Is your church interested in being one of the churches who will make a difference in their community through school partnerships? If so, please contact us HERE!
Upcoming Service Opportunity: Christmas Around Towne
On Saturday, December 19th, hundreds of families will come together for an incredible Christmas experience including a fantastic meal, the opportunity to ‘shop’ for gifts for their family members, a fun time hearing the Christmas story, and the opportunity to see hundreds of volunteers from 11 Folsom community churches extending a hand up with a heart full of love. Christmas Around Towne is a memorable Christmas experience that benefits families connected with Powerhouse Ministries, a Folsom based organizations that helps transform lives impacted by rejection, abuse or poverty with the hope of the Gospel, radical acceptance and overwhelming grace.
