WHAT'S HAPPENING
Free & Reduced Meal Application
Waivers and pandemic-related benefits from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that allowed Belton ISD to offer free meals to all students for the past two years will not continue in the 2022-2023 school year. This means that families must submit the Free and Reduced School Meal Application to continue receiving individual benefits. The application is available at www.schoollunchapp.com. Students at our schools that qualify for the Community Eligibility Provision (Belton Early Childhood School, Miller Heights Elementary, Chisholm Trail Elementary, Southwest Elementary, Leon Heights Elementary and South Belton Middle School) will continue to receive free meals. For more information about menu prices and payment options, visit www.bisd.net/nutrition.
Regular School Attendance is Important to Student Success
As the school year kicks off, we’re asking parents to partner with us in making regular school attendance the norm. It shows your child that school is valued and important and helps build strong habits for success. Regular attendance also ensures your child experiences the full curriculum and learning opportunities.
Belton ISD is Hiring for All Open Positions at August 15 Job Fair
Belton ISD is hosting a job fair for all open positions from 2-4 p.m. on Monday, August 15 at Chisholm Trail Elementary, 1082 S. Wheat Rd. in Belton. Available jobs include educational aides (general and special education), teachers, licensed specialists in school psychology, diagnosticians, speech language pathologists, school nutritionists, bus drivers and custodians. Those interested in pursuing a career in Belton ISD, or just learning more about the district, are invited to attend.
Update on COVID-19
Belton ISD will remain in Scenario 1 of our COVID-19 Response Plan as we start the 2022-2023 school year. Students and staff are still expected to self-screen for symptoms. The main change in protocol that families should note is that anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will only be excluded from school or work for five days from the positive test or start of symptoms. We will continue to notify close contacts but will not send campus or classroom notifications. Learn more at www.bisd.net/covid.
