Rasperrz Pi
using as a media centre (Leon Schmidt)
What you will need
If you want to use the Rasperry Pi as a media centre you need following things:
- Rasperry Pi model B
- Micro USB power supply (5V 1.2A)
- USB Keyboard
- 8GB SD Card Class 10 (FAT32)
- USB harddrive
- HDMI cable
- HDMI monitor
- the latest version of OpenELEC (http://www.openelec.tv/get-openelec/viewcategory/10-raspberry-pi-builds)
- the latest version of Win32 Diskimager (http://www.chip.de/downloads/c1_downloads_auswahl_46121032.html?t=1378716945&v=3600&s=0688b386655267df4a604af6e9643c36)
How to Setup
connecting
Connect your USB keyboard, harddrive, HDMI cable and USB power supply to the Rasperry Pi. Bonding the other end of the HDMI cable to your Monitor. If needed, use an adapter.
installing operating system
Open the Win 32 Diskimager and select the OpenElec file you have downloaded.

After that make sure that the SD card is selected as a device.

Then press "write" and "yes" to install OpenELEC on your SD card.

After successful writed put the SD Card into your Rasperry Pi.
connecting to power
After that connect the USB power supply to your Rasperry Pi and turn it on.
