Government Classes Engage in Mock Election Primary
In advance of the New York Political primaries (April 19) , Wayne Government classes joined thousands of students across the US for the first national Youth Mock Election Primary. Hosted by the University of Virginia, this first mock primary adds to their successful E-Congress and Youth Mock National Election, which they host every year. Our results were close to the national, with Republican Donald Trump enjoying a narrow victory over Democrat Bernie Sanders (45%-43%). Nationally, students elected Sanders by the same margin over Trump, with the other contenders far behind. We will be following this year’s election closely.
