West High Band Camp
Band Camp Starts in August!
All of the activities will take place on the West High campus in the auditorium, band room, and practice field. Lunch is on your own from Noon-1:30pm during all portions of the camp. Students can bring their own lunch, go home for lunch, or patronize the surrounding restaurants. All students should plan to eat. It is not healthy and dangerous to skip lunch during band camp.

Freshmen Orientation- August 5
9:30am-10:30am Marching Rehearsal
10:30am-12:00pm Music Rehearsal
Full Band Camp- August 6-7, 10-14
9:00am-12:00pm Full Rehearsal
1:30pm-4:30pm Percussion and Wind Rehearsal
6:00pm-9:00pm Colorguard Rehearsal
Band Registration- August 7
6:00pm-8:00pm in the Commons
*This event is for parents and students. This is where students can buy shoes, gloves, and band apparel. Band fees will also be paid at this event.
Band Picnic- August 14
*This event is a potluck at Byrnes Park for all of the band families. Here is what everyone is responsible for.
Seniors & Juniors: Main Dishes
Sophomores A-M: Side Dishes
Sophomores N-Z & Freshmen A-G: Desserts
Freshmen H-Z: Bottled/Canned Drinks (Water, soda, etc.)
Night Rehearsals- August 17-21, August 24-28
6:00pm-9:00pm Full Rehearsal
*August 26, 27, & 28 rehearsals will take place from 9:00am-12:00pm. This is done to allow the football team to practice under the lights before their first game on August 28.

DId I mention water?
In all seriousness; please bring more than a 20 ounce bottle of water. We will be outside quite a bit and it is important that students are able to hydrate quickly and get back to rehearsal. It is a distraction for the student and ensemble if they constantly have to go inside to get a drink or fill up their water bottle. A one gallon water bottle is a great investment and will keep the students healthy and safe.
