The Walker Talker
Walker Career Center Weekly Update - December 18, 2020
Did you say Industrial Drive is now a Winter Wonderland?
Have you ever walked down Industrial Drive and asked yourself, "I wonder what this Industrial Hallway would look like as a Winter Wonderland?" No? Me neither. Thankfully, our amazing Student Council team at Warren Central had this vision and was able to make it happen. Through this transformation, Warren was able to host MLT Outreach and other community partners for a holiday toy and food distribution event, serving over 2,000 children and families in the Indianapolis community last Saturday.
It was great to see the WCC family step up to assist WCHS StuCo sponsors and students! Special thank you to the guys in Industrial Drive for offering up your space and the ladies in Cosmetology for volunteering during the toy distribution.
Auto Collision is Shining Bright
The Auto Collision team spent the last few weeks learning how to fade and stripe items to help all of the muscle car lovers out there. In addition, they continue to learn about the inner workings of the car as they cut up one of our old scrap cars. Not to mention, it turns out Mr. Ross is a huge cat lover and has adopted one of the new kittens from our back lot, Walker. Seems like a pretty impressive first semester for Mr. Ross, we are lucky to have him on our team!
The Annual Mannequin Challenge
The Cosmetology team is doing an impressive job trying to keep the annual Mannequin Challenge alive, even without the annual College and Career Fest where the contest is traditionally held. We are looking forward to seeing all of the entrants in January when the voting begins!
