Words From The Counselor
"In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." - Anne Frank
During the week of January 22 - January 26, Oxford Prep participated in the Great Kindness Challenge. Throughout the week, students engaged in activities aiming to help spread kindness in our school community. 7th grader Matthew Fulcher was the winner, completing all 50 items on the Great Kindness Challenge Checklist. Congrats Matthew!
This week is National School Counseling Week. National School Counseling week is a week set aside to raise awareness about Comprehensive School Counseling Programs. The goal of the Comprehensive School Counseling Program at Oxford Prep is to address the needs of all students by helping them to acquire competencies in personal, academic and career development domains. Students need skills in these domains to succeed in school and in life. While parents often do a great job in teaching many of these skills, it is nice to have reinforcement at school as well. Oxford Prep's Comprehensive School Counseling Program is made up of classroom guidance, small group activities, individual counseling and college and career planning. Students are referred by teachers or parents for individual and group counseling. If you want to learn more about Oxford Prep's Comprehensive School Counseling Program please contact me.
