Sartartia MS -- Exemplary Education Every Day -- 7.16.20

Jag Families,

We hope that this email finds you well and safe and that you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying time with your family. We have been gearing up for the start of the 2020-2021 school year and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a smooth start to the school year for you and your JAG. As we strive to keep you well-informed, here are a few upcoming events and pertinent information. We will share more information as soon as it is available.

Fort Bend ISD will start the 2020-2021 school year 100 percent online on August 12th to best protect the well-being of our students and staff. At this time, we do not know how long online instruction will continue, but you can trust that systems will be in place to provide a robust online program with both synchronous and asynchronous learning.

With exceptions made for those with documented health risks, teachers will deliver this online instruction from a classroom or designated workspace, complete with established health and safety practices.

Starting school online will allow adults in our school to refine the established health and safety protocols before introducing students back into the building. It will also provide the opportunity for staff and students to learn and master online learning tools, which will make any swift transition to online learning easier if it becomes necessary to close a classroom or school due to COVID-19. There will be exceptions for a limited number of students to learn at school each day. These details will be shared in the near future.

Note: During this period of online learning, participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular programs will also be online.

Remain up-to-date with the latest FBISD plans for the 2020-2021 school year by clicking here.

Jag Camp will be Monday, August 3, 2020. Due to health and safety regulations, it will be held virtually. A link to the virtual Jag Camp will be sent to all SMS students and parents on Monday, August 3, 2020.

The faculty, staff, and administration looks forward to seeing everyone come together throughout the year to engage in our World Class School. Our theme this year is "Individually Unique, Together Complete" and our social media hashtag of choice is #SartartiaStrong.

Have fun, be safe, and "see" you in a few weeks! Please do not hesitate to contact any administrator at any time should you have questions or concerns.

All my best,

Cholly Oglesby

For the 2020-2021 school year, please remember to comply with the Texas minimum vaccine requirements for school entry. Immunization requirements for the 2020-2021 school year are similar to the previous school year. FBISD Summer Mental Health Supports

FBISD mental health partners, Vida Clinic and Clearhope Counseling and Wellness Center, are offering counseling services to all Fort Bend ISD students, families, and staff this summer. This will allow our FBISD community to access quality mental health services right from their own homes virtually or potentially face-to-face at a nearby campus or counseling office.

To schedule services with Vida Clinic, please visit vidaclinic.org or contact the Vida Clinic Care Team at 512-518-2209 or by email at vidacare@vidaclinic.org. To make an appointment and/or learn more about Clearhope, go to clearhopewellness.com/about-us. Both providers will work with each family or staff for payment of services and funding options to fit their unique situation.

This is the last Behavioral Health and Wellness Parent Newsletter (ARABIC) (CHINESE) (SPANISH) (TURKISH) (VIETNAMESE) for the summer. The Newsletter outlines tips to creatively engage with your children along with supporting their (and your own!) mental and physical health. You can also visit FBISD’s COVID-19 Social-Emotional Support website for more mental health and self-care resources.
