As we look ahead, our school is eagerly preparing for the upcoming Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 10. We aim to honor the brave men and women who have served our nation with a special event that instills in our students the values of gratitude and respect.
Additionally, please note that Thanksgiving break is just around the corner. We hope you enjoy quality time with your families and take this opportunity to reflect on the many things we are thankful for.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to many more enriching experiences for our students in the weeks to come.
Here are a few reminders for next week:
Volunteering Reminders
We thank all of our volunteers for your service this year. We love having you on campus! Please remember that students may not leave school before 3:15 unless they are checked out in the office. If you are finished volunteering for the day, please do not go to your child's classroom to pick them up. You may wait for them in the lobby at dismissal time. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Literature Policy
As a school, we want students to choose literature that upholds FCA FM’s mission and Core Virtues. Children reflect what they read in their writing. Good models foster good writers. We ask that students only bring books from home that reflect our virtues.
Books with the following characteristics are not appropriate:
- Continuous use of vulgar and crude language and/or images
- Overarching theme does not reflect core virtues
- Sensationalizes/romanticizes immoral acts
- Desensitizes children to the distortion of traditional principles of good and evil or contains explicit sexual content
- Not age-appropriate for grade level
Examples of books that do not meet these criteria (not exhaustive):
- Captain Underpants (continual use of vulgar and crude humor)
- Big Nate (vulgar)
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid (vulgar)
- Graphic Novels (contrary to High Standards of Academic Excellence)
- Goosebumps (overarching theme does not reflect core virtues)
- Twilight series (desensitizes children to the distortion of traditional principles of good and evil)
- Hunger Games series (not appropriate in elementary)
- Catcher in the Rye (continuous use of vulgar and crude language)
- Catch-22 (explicit sexual content)
Please reach out to Admin should you have any questions about the literature policy.

Please remember that you can donate at any time throughout the year. Your contributions help enhance our programs and provide enriching experiences for our students.
