STUDENT MASTER CLASS

Creative Storytelling Using Film

Led by Filmmaker Erahm Christopher

This intensive and interactive workshop will engage young filmmakers with any level of experience to see, hear and create films differently. Using interactive discussions, multimedia examples and hands-on activities, Christopher will lead a fun, fast-paced session that will challenge the way you see and hear films. During the first part of the program he will challenge your senses so you understand how different audio and visual elements work together to create a compelling story. Christopher will showcase several of his youth-focused projects to demonstrate how and why he utilized certain artistic elements and techniques to create his films. Throughout the second part of the program you will engage in two collaborative exercises that will challenge you to work in small teams to create unique stories on paper and with images. The mediums Christopher will cover throughout the program will include animation, stop-motion, documentary and scripted live-action. This session is intended for curious youth who love to watch films and those who are interested in making their own.
