Mrs. Shockley's March Happenings
Even though we are testing, we still stay really busy!
Spring Tagxedos
Using voice output devices, we got to pick some of our favorite spring words! Mrs. Shockley then typed them into Tagxedo to make a flower shaped poem.
World Read Aloud Day
We worked hard on our World Read Aloud Day Project. Mrs. Shockley recorded picture books on voice output devices. We then got to read our stories using these while Mrs. Cox videoed us. We shared the videos with the entire school so that we could read a book to everyone.
Decorating the Library
We colored paper and card stock to make the grass and the sky. We then glued our flower shaped poems on the paper. We made these for Mrs. Cox to decorate the library with.
Coloring Easter Eggs
We helped to color Easter Eggs to hang in the hallway here at Palmetto Middle School.
Chicken Glyphs
We colored Chicken Glyphs for the hallway. We had to answer questions about ourselves. The teachers also had to answer questions. Each of us was pair up with a teacher. We had to color the big chicken using our teachers answers, and the little chicken using our answers.
Hanging With the 6th Graders
We invited Mrs. Back's class to visit our room during SSR time. Mrs. Shockley read them the book Pete The Cat and we used the voice output devices to help her. The 6th graders really enjoyed our show.
Pete The Cat: School Shoes
Mr. Snipes loved reading to our class so much, he came back for more. He read us Pete The Cat Rocking In My School Shoes. We used voice output devices to respond to questions and help sing the songs from the book.
A Visit from the Fire Department
Mr. Steve Ellison with the Williamston Fire Department brought the fire truck out to Palmetto Middle for us to see. They also showed us how they change in and out of their fire gear.
Easter Eggs
We used our pouring cups and switches to fill containers to dye Easter Eggs in. We each got to pick 3 different colors to dye our eggs in.
