Note from the Principal

THIS MESSAGE IS FOR CDL/HYBRID FAMILIES

Updated Schedule

What a challenging time this has been for so many, including some of our very own staff and families. Our thoughts are with this community and hope the positive movement towards fire containment of the fires in Oregon continue.

As you have recently seen in the email from Dr. Kathy Ludwig, we will resume distance learning and meal service tomorrow. Below is our revised schedule for this week, given the cancellation of school on Friday and Monday. Please be sure to refer to any updates from your child's teacher regarding their specific schedule, as some grade levels are prepared to move forward given that they have completed their virtual home visits due to smaller class sizes.

Tuesday: This may be a “slow start” day, as this past Friday would have been. Students will join their class meetings at 8:00 and teachers will continue with their virtual home visits which were scheduled for Friday or continue live instruction if home visits are complete. We have found tremendous value in these virtual home visits and want to make sure we can meet with every student and family before our Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) schedule begins.

Wednesday-Friday: Our typical CDL schedule begins, with school being from 8-1:30, and lunch for all students from 11-11:30. Each class will begin at 8:00 with a morning meeting. Wednesday will be an “A” day. Teachers will keep working with their classes to build student stamina and independence with school activities. Teachers will communicate with families and/or students more specific class related schedules for these days which best reflect the needs of their particular students.

Again, I know all of these schedules can be complicated to work through and stay up to date with- even before the wildfires resulted in school cancellations. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with your questions.

Additionally. with the wildfires impacting our community and those across the state, we wanted to provide some resources for families in talking with their students. If your family is impacted specifically, please do not hesitate to reach out to Michael Garcia, School Counselor at Boones Ferry. Below are some helpful links and there are tips included as attachments.
