Return of the Dust Bowl?
Will we have another Dust Bowl, what is the Dust Bowl?
"The Dust Bowl, also known as the Dirty Thirties,"(Wikipedia). Was a time of giant dust storms, severe drought, and a failure to apply dryland farming. All of the chaos from this event was caused by poor farming techniques, drought, and selfishness. For ten years, the wind blew dust throughout the western part of the U.S. The drought killed crops that had previously kept the soil in place. There were four waves of droughts, one right after another: 1930–31, 1934, 1936, and 1939-1940, It felt like one draught too. In 1933, 6 million pigs were slaughtered to resupply, reduce, and hopefully, boost prices. The "black Sunday" Dust Storm of 14 April 1935" (Black Sunday), was one of the worst dust storms in American history.

Now, will the Dust Bowl happen again?
Scientists say that the dust bowl may happen in again within ten years. The weather temperatures will need to reach a record level over the next few years. "Not to mention that we have a lot more agricultural advantages now than we did back in the dust bowl"(THE DUST BOWL). "The Bowl taught us hard lessons about the fragility of our soil and the need for our care of it"(THE DUST BOWL). Right now, our climate is changing and we're experiencing the worst drought in more than 50 years. The weather has already gotten more extreme, with longer-lasting floods and droughts. Climatologists are making it clear that the recent droughts are exactly the sort of event predicted to come more frequently as the planet heats up.
How could we prevent another Dust Bowl
If we stop desertification by planting vegetation and keep putting nutrients in the soil, we can prevent another dust bowl from happening. We also need better soil conservation practices. We need to keep soil well kept from erosion and if we do so we can prevent another Dust Bowl. Leaving the soil less fertile. In current days, farmers learned to plow with the natural contours of the land, which helps the soil remain in place.
